Information phase
Origin and use of granite.

1: Origin:
* Granite is an igneous rock formed deep in the Earth's crust from molten rock called magma.
2: Usage:
* Widely used in construction and interiors , also for grave monuments, memorials, tomstones & gravestones.
* As for construction and interior, we mainly think of floors, countertops, cladding, window sills, kitchen countertops, table tops and stairs.

Information phase
Installation of granite as cladding.

1: With mechanical anchoring:
* Large façade panels are anchored to the interior cavity wall with stainless steel pins and anchors.
* The façade are mounted separately from each other so that if damaged, each panel can be replaced.
2: Bonding:
* Façade skirting and also stone strips can be glued to the interior cavity wall with glue or adhevise mortar.
* Adhevise bonding is more detrimental to ventilation , however.
3: Masonry:
* Masonry provides a stronger façade that fits better, preventing thermal bridges/ building knot.

Information phase
Installation of granite floor tiles.

1: Materials and tools:
> Materials:
* Granite tiles - tile adhevise - grout - silicone sealant.
> Tools:
* Caulking gun- rubber gloves - pencil- jointing trowel- corner piece tile profil- ruler- bucket- floor squeegee rubber-trowel- straightedge- store hook- tile sponge- tile cutter- knee pads- mixing quard.
> Ten kay steps for installing granite floor tiles:
1: Ensure a stable, wind-dried and grease & dust -free surface. Prime the substrate with a primer specified by the manufacturer.
Mix the granite adhevise according to instructions.
2: Apply the adhevise with a glue comb.
Attention, outside, apply the adhevise to the back of the tile, but spread it completely over the entire tile.
3: Slide and align the tiles in the adhevise bed within 10 to 20 minutes. The joint width depends on the size of the tiles.
4: Then press the tiles into the adhevise bed.
5: Before grouting, allow the adhevise mortar to dry out sufficiently.
Grouting granite tiles must be done with marble/granite grout.
The joints must be clean and evenly deep, scrape any protruding tile adhevise from the joints first.
6: Pull the grout into the joints with a rubber squeegee or sponge board. When doing, use the squeegee diagonally across the course of the joints.
7: Scrape off the excess grout and allow the joints to harden.
8: Now clean the tiled surface with a damp sponge, always making a circular motion. Rinse the sponge thoroughly several times. Then wipe the surface dry with a dry cloth.
9: Seal the transition from floor to wall tiles with an elestic grout.
For larger tiled areas, an elastic expansion joint is used at the transition to other areas.
When doing so, cover the edges of the joints with tape.
10: Fill the joints with marble/granite -silicone. After +/- 10 minutes, grout these with a grout gladmaker.
Pull of the tape and smooth the edges with a moistened finger. Use water supplemented with 10% colorless detergent.
