CONSTRUCTION OF REGULAR POLYGONS

Students will learn that regular polygons are geometric shapes whose sides and angles are equal, as well as, the way of constructing these types of polygons.

Motivation phase
Students should get the general knowledge about the rules for drawing and construction of the regular polygons

Students read the instructions about the correct drawing and construction of polygons, then they draw and construct the assigned polygons

  1. An equilateral triangle is constructed if it is given a side AB, which from the endpoints longer than AB describes arcs of radius equal to the given side. At the intersection of these arcs is the third theme of triangle C.
  1. In the construction of an equilateral triangle, when the described circle around the triangle is given, it is necessary to divide the circle into three equal parts. Dividing points form the vertices of triangles.
Information phase
Students analyze the assigned drawing

Students use the acquired knowledge and create their own drawings accordingly.
